Today our guest speaker talked to us about the usefulness of Google Analytics and Adwords.
Adwords is a great online advertising service that caters to businesses. It is excellent for bringing in new online users. An example of Adwords is when you go to watch a YouTube video and an advertisement before the video appears for about 30 seconds. Google can also track and see if someone buys something through Adwords. The Adwords program lets you enable a budget for advertising depending on how big the company is they are probably going to spend more on advertising then a smaller company will because of financial situations. The program charges only when someone clicks on the advertisement. The main focus of Adwords is specific key words.
Google Analytics is more of a tracking and reporting of website traffic. This software can even track the smallest amount of activity. Both of these have become a tremendous part of expanding businesses and keep continuing to grow.
Our guest speaker specifically works for Google Fiber, which is a super fast Internet and television service. Google Fiber is only located in 5 places in the United States and two of those cities happen to be Raleigh and Charlotte which is pretty neat!
I was very educated on what Google Analytics and Adwords exactly were because I had never heard about them before but they definitely seem very effective for companies to utilize.
